Maverick Muscle: Ford Unveils 300-HP Maverick 300T with Mustang Turbo at SEMA 2025

Ford debuts the Maverick 300T at SEMA 2025 with a Mustang turbo, upgraded suspension, and 300 horsepower for 2026 kit release

Key Highlights:

  • The Maverick 300T features a Mustang 2.3L EcoBoost turbo swap, achieving 300 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque.
  • The project includes significant suspension and wheel upgrades, which lower the center of gravity and substantially improve handling and control.
  • Ford intends to release a customer-accessible 300T project kit in 2026 for existing Maverick XL, XLT, and Lariat owners.

Ford is making a statement at SEMA 2025 by showcasing the Maverick 300T, a powerful project vehicle designed to satisfy compact truck enthusiasts. This modification swaps the truck’s standard 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine for a turbocharger derived from the Mustang 2.3-liter EcoBoost, resulting in an estimated output of 300 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque—a substantial increase of 50 horsepower and 40 lb-ft over the stock Maverick.

Crucially, Ford is committed to making a version of this 300T project kit available to customers in 2026, offering a factory-backed path to elevated performance.

The core of the upgrade is the turbo, which features a larger 59mm compressor wheel. It pairs with a high-performance intercooler that is nearly 59% larger than the stock unit. This combination not only reduces intake temperatures by almost 40% but also lowers pressure drop by more than 20%, ensuring consistent and reliable power delivery even during demanding driving. Engine modifications are completed with specialized tuning and a performance exhaust system.

Performance enhancements are not limited to the powertrain. The Maverick 300T is equipped with 20-inch performance wheels wrapped in high-end tires. The suspension has been completely reworked, featuring lowered front and rear springs, upgraded monotube rear dampers, and a stiffer rear stabilizer bar. These careful adjustments significantly sharpen handling, enhance vehicle control, and ultimately deliver a much greater driving enjoyment, whether the truck is loaded or empty.

Visually, the project vehicle is offered in two distinctive themes: black or bronze. Both themes include unique 300T” graphics, specific Ford Performance badges, and black chrome lug nuts. The Bronze package further distinguishes itself with striking bronze tailgate lettering, successfully emphasizing the truck’s performance upgrades while maintaining a polished and aggressive appearance.

The Maverick 300T kit will be compatible with 2025 Maverick XL, XLT, and Lariat models equipped with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine and all-wheel drive. While not mandatory, the 4K tow package is highly recommended as it provides crucial additional transmission cooling necessary for the sustained higher power output.

Ford developed the Maverick 300T as a direct response to enthusiastic customer feedback and the strong desire within the community to customize their compact trucks. This project underscores Ford's ongoing commitment to listening to customers and translating enthusiast-inspired ideas into production-ready modifications. Attendees of the event can view the vehicle and receive detailed information about the 300T project kit.
